Perhaps predictable, but we had to go with the iconic CHANEL no. 5 as our number 1 fragrance! Maybe it's because certain notes smell different on each individual's skin, making it totally unique to the wearer, but as this scent has been trending since 1921, we simply can't deny its genius. 

With top notes of citrus, and underlying hints of vanilla, may-rose and jasmine, this is the ideal fragrance for everyday wear. Although, it's certainly special enough to easily take you from day to night. 

Coming in second place is CHANEL CHANCE. This floral scented perfume with patchouli, jasmine and pink pepper provides a sensual aroma intended to sweep you off your feet and encourage you to take a chance in life. 

CHANCE is also available as and Eau de Parfum, but we have chosen the Eau de Toilette as we love the fresh feel of the spritz, and the subtler scent is great for work wear! If you require a refresher throughout the day, CHANCE comes in handy 50 ml bottles that are the ideal size to pop into your handbag.

For those that like a stronger scent to see them through any occasion, this is the option for you. The aroma of jasmine, rose, patchouli and vetiver will transport you to the orient with a scent that will last all evening without needing to reapply. 

This Eau de Parfum comes in a spray bottle that makes it easy to apply. Having been first introduced in 2001, it seems Coco Mademoiselle is fixing itself as a firm favourite in the CHANEL range. 

Inspired by 'The Queen of Paris' pianist Misia Sert, this perfume was designed by Chanel to be reminiscent of the dressing rooms of the Parisian operas. It has decedent notes of violet, leather and Tonka bean, bolstered by both Grasse and Turkish rose.

This scent doesn't come cheap and is definitely one of CHANEL's most expensive. That said, the rich fragrance profile lends itself better to occasional evenings out, rather than every day wear, so the bottle will last!

You would easily be drawn to this perfume by the sheer beauty of the bottle alone, perfectly square and crafted from delicate, ultra-thin glass. It comes as no surprise that the perfume inside is just a elegant, with a delightful balance of scents that create this perfectly feminine fragrance.

It may be one of the newest members of the CHANEL perfume family, but it's already proving to be a favourite. Gabrielle is designed to be worn by a strong, powerful and determined woman, ready to show the world what she can do. 

Coco Noir is another delicious scent perfect for evening wear, without being too heady or overpowering. Through the mysterious notes of bergamot and Tonka bean, CHANEL has captured the very essence of a sophisticated woman.

Whilst the scent is moderate, and perfect for those who don't like a very powerful fragrance, it's an extremely long-lasting perfume that you shouldn't need to refresh too often. We have to say, we love the all-black bottle too!

Allure is a natural scent, which is ideal for everyday wear. Described by CHANEL as having six facets, it provides a unique fragrance for each wearer. We particularly love the citrussy mandarin notes, blended with an underlying aroma of vanilla. 

This is another Eau De Toilette spray, and while the scent may not last as long as an Eau De Parfum, it does linger for a reasonable length of time before you'll need to reapply.

We love this Eau De Parfum as it has a moderate, woody aroma that can effortlessly take you from daytime to evening wear. Inspired by Mademoiselle's villa in Roquebrune, France, it encapsulates the feel of a Summer's day under Mediterranean skies.

Be aware that this is another fairly pricey option. However, as the fragrance lasts for a good amount of time, it's worth investing in this signature scent.

As CHANEL perfumes go, you can generally expect a large price tag. Which is why we really like the CHANCE range! These eau de toilettes are priced under £100 and they come in handy smaller bottles that are  perfect for travelling. With a light, bright citrus scent, this perfume provides a refreshing feel. 

We think this perfume would suit younger wearers, due to it's fresh fragrance. Unfortunately, like other eau de toilettes, the scent doesn't last long, so you will have to top it up every few hours. 

This Eau de Parfum was created in 2014 and was inspired by the 1932 luxurious jewellery collection created by Mademoiselle Chanel featuring the most beautiful diamonds and stars. With its woody jasmine aroma, this is a stunningly aromatic scent.

The fact that it's inspired by diamonds is very reflective in the price. This bottle is at the top end of the price bracket, and you only get 15 ml for the cost. However, we feel that many people will fall for the scent, regardless of the price.
